Sabrina Purcell

As a lifelong Durhamite, I’ve called Durham, NC, home for most of my life. My artistic journey has been diverse, marked by involvement in performance art with Awakening CHANGE in 2009-2010 and art photoshoots with Side Yard Studios. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in IT, and I currently work as an IT Systems Administrator.

My passion for art and film took an exciting turn when the incredible Edie Eberhardt and Jeri Hernandez from High Grass Hideout Studios invited me to be part of a horror short film. I eagerly accepted, marking my debut in short filmmaking. Working with HGHS has been immensely rewarding, as I cherish the relationships with both new and old friends.

An interesting facet of my life is being a CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult), which has made me fluent in ASL. This unique experience enriches my interactions and communication within the artistic community.

For those navigating the industry, my advice is to balance seriousness with enjoyment: "Keep your serious moments to get the job done. Just remember to have fun with it or what is the point?"

With many more HGHS projects in the pipeline, I am thrilled to continue this creative journey, blending my IT expertise with my love for art and film.
